First Prenatal Visit
We had our first prenatal visit on September 27. They confirmed that I am eight weeks along and the due date is May 10, 2006!
As some of you know, I was told that I would have issues with my pregnancy due to my lymphodema and swelling problems. The LPN (Judy) that I met with said there shouldn't be any problems as long as we can keep my blood pressure from getting too high and keep an eye on the swelling. So, ladys and gents -- let's hope and pray she is currect! I wasn't looking forward to a trimester of bed rest anyway, that's for sure!
They didn't do much at this visit but blood work and answer all of my 100 million questions! My next visit is November 1st and we'll get to hear the baby's heartbeat then -- we can't wait! :)
As far as how I'm feeling and any symptoms I'm having, I've been very lucky! I'm pretty exhausted and am having some minor back pain -- especially while sleeping. I haven't had much of an appetite (mainly because the idea of most food turns my stomach) but no morning sickness to speak of! Overall, I'm feeling good! And whatever is "ailing" me at the moment, it doesn't seem too bad when I think that we're going through this for the baby -- at least there is a good cause, right?! :)
Many of you have asked if we're going to find out the sex of the baby. To this I respond, "If you have to ask -- you must not know me very well!". I'm too impatient to wait seven more months to find out what we're having -- it's already killing me! So, YES, we will find out!!! And we will share that exciting news with all of you as well. However, we are planning to keep the name a secret until the baby is born. There has to be a surprise somewhere! :)
Until the next visit...

Cool!
So where are you guys at? What's going on? How's the baby doing? :)
I was diagnosed with lymphodema as well. I am about 6 months and haven't had any problems so far. I mentioned it at my first appointment but they didn't seem to recognize it as a possible issue.
