Climbing Furniture
Emily can now climb up onto furniture and she loves leaning against the arm of the loveseat. Unfortunately she doesn't understand the concept of getting too close to the edge -- she fell off a few days ago -- woops!
She's also started climbing the stairs, so we're teaching her how to go down. She doesn't like the way we're showing her and she gets pretty frustrated (she wants to just turn around and "walk" down them). It's in times like this that you can really see her temper come out!
We had her 15 mos Check-up this week and she is now 31" long and 20 lbs 8 ozs (50% on height and 10% on weight). Dr. Joyce was very happy to see how she is progressing and how she's filling out -- her belly and legs are definitely bigger!

The Latest Happenings!
It's official -- Emily said her first sentence yesterday! Nelson came in from getting the mail and Emily looked up at him and said "Hi, DaDa". She said "MaMa" last week and recognized that it was me (probably not the first time but this time it was very deliberate) -- but yesterday was her first sentence! We were quite excited and just had to share with the world -- or at least whomever is reading this blog! :)
She's also started pulling herself up in the tub -- which she hasn't yet learned that it's slippery and not the best place to be crawling and climbing! So, until she learns, she just gets mad at Mom and Dad for forcing her to sit in the tub -- uh, what awful parents we are!! ;)~
Otherwise, life is good! We're all feeling better and enjoying our health! Emily is crawling everywhere and getting into everything -- I believe the days of baby-proofing cabinets and installing baby-gates are nearing, if not passing us by!! :)

Emily's New Friend
Here is a picture of Emily with her new friend, Mona the Monkey. I finished knitting it last night and Emily is having a great time with her! She just doesn't seem to know what to do with it -- she gives it kisses, she tries to pick it up (but it's too big and floppy), she gives it hugs, she tackles it. It's quite the sight!! :)
My New Job!!
As a few of you know, I got a new job last week! A friend of mine from church has a business making/selling handbags and she asked if I would be interested in felting for her. (For those of you who don't know what "felting" is -- it's the process of knitting with wool and then washing it so that it shrinks down and makes a more dense fiber.) I made my first bag last week and I think it's going to be a great opportunity for me! If you're interested, her website is http://www.cindybags.biz/ . Here's a picture of the bag I made -- not too shabby, if I do say so myself! ;)
