A Mini Lewis-Family Reunion

We had a mini-family reunion over this past weekend. Sharilyn & Parker were here with Jill & Brennan helping me with the kids. Then over the weekend, Krissy & the girls came over and Nathan came as well! We all had a great time and the kids had a ton of fun dressing up and putting on a play for us (it was about Noah building the ark).

Sharilyn & Parker and Krissy & the girls left on Saturday and then Nathan went back home on Sunday afternoon. Jill and Brennan are here until Friday, still helping me with the kids. I'm starting to feel much better and should be able to fend on my own next week! There is no way I could have survived the last three weeks though without the help from my parents, Nelson, Jill & Sharilyn. Thank you guys -- I have the best family in the world!! :)

Church Story

Emily has been learning about Genesis in her Sunday School class and their memory verse is Gen. 1:1 ("In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.")

We were just talking to her about what she learned today and this is what we heard: "In the beginning there was God. He created the whole earth. And then He went back to church."

Thought you might enjoy the laugh!! :)

And here is a video of her singing "Jesus Loves Me". She's adorable!! :)

Break-Down Rock Stars - First Show

The older kids put on a rock & roll concert for the moms (and Emily). They were known as the Break-Down Rock Stars. Thought you might enjoy the performance! :)

Egg Hunt

We had an Easter egg hunt with Emily and she had a blast! We were telling her over the last few days that the Easter Bunny would be coming and we would have to keep an eye out for him. So, we set her Easter basket (with the eggs) out on the patio before her nap and we told her that maybe while she was sleeping the bunny would come and hide the eggs. Well, a few hours later, she wakes up from her nap and the first sentence from her mouth is, "Let's hunt for eggs"! We opened up the backdoor and sure enough, the Easter bunny had been here and hidden all of her eggs . . . she was SOOO excited! :)

We got done finding all the eggs and she looked up at me and said, "Can we do it again, Mommy?" Obviously she had a good time! :)
And what fun to open the eggs (that she thought were empty) and find things in them! :)

"Wanna bite of my marshmallow chocolate egg?"
Alex was just chillin' on the patio while all of this was happening. He was pretty happy just "petting" the grass! :)

Happy Easter!

These are some flowers I got from my Aunt & Uncle -- aren't they beautiful?!

We couldn't decide if Alexander looked like a Mississippi lawyer or an Amish-boy with a contraband, brightly colored tie. Either way, he was the cutest boy this Easter! :)

Just some random pictures

Here are Emily & Alex playing in a box from the washer machine pedestal . . . no better toy than a cardboard box, right?! ;) Alex quickly snuck in while Emily was in the other room -- she would not have been happy that he was playing in "her house"! :)
Aunt Tracie made this skirt for Emily -- isn't it adorable?! :)
This is his "super-cheese" smile . . . can't get any bigger!! :)

Home, Safe & Sound

Well, the last few days have been long ones! As some of you know, I went to the hospital on Wednesday for a partial hysterectomy. I've been having a lot of problems the last 8 months and after many different medications and much deliberation, we chose to pursue surgery. I went in on Wednesday morning, with surgery at 1pm. I woke up from the anesthesia sometime around 5-6pm and was pretty much out of it until yesterday, although feeling pretty good! Gotta love those pain pumps! :)

Then yesterday, they were planning to discharge me but my bladder had different plans and refused to cooperate. So, they introduced the catheter again and once I was able to use "the facilities" like a big girl (this morning around 5am), I was then able to leave. Of course, I had to wait to be examined by the good doctor and then officially released. Well, while waiting, I started experiencing some intense pressure in my abdomen (I was praying there wasn't anything left in there from the surgery -- Wendy, bless you're heart for going through what you did last week)! Well, it just turned out that I had not taken any pain medication in almost 12 hours and the surgery was finally starting to feel real! Ugh, I would not recommend waiting that long! (Partially my fault for not staying on top it! Partially my nurses' fault for not getting me my meds!) So, they pumped me full of vicadin and now I'm home and flying high as a kite! :)

So, overall, the surgery went well. I spent one extra night in the hospital than I had wanted to, but it was better than coming home with a cath! :) And praise God, everything went very smoothly. Dr. Krivetzky said these surgeries usually last 1-3 hours, and she was done in 40 minutes! Thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers -- I know they were heard! :)

I love you all . . . it's nice to be home! :)

Our Silly Kiddos!

Alex is "cheesing" here but he actually wasn't too happy. Dr. Joyce said we can start giving him table foods, so we gave him some turkey lunch meat to eat and he just didn't know how to chew it or what to do with it. He kept sliding it out of his mouth with his tongue -- what a character! :) We had Alex's 9 Month Check-up this week and he is just growing and growing! He grew 3 inches (now 29") and is up to 20# 6 ozs. He is in the 75% for height and 60% for weight -- hard to believe he's finally taller than wide! He is such a tank! :)

Dr. Joyce is pleased with his development and she said she would be surprised if he didn't start cruising around furniture and walking soon. He's just on the go all the time now and into all of Emily's toys -- which does cause some drama for his sister! What else are little brothers for, I guess?! :)
He has found his reflection in the fireplace this week and just loves to give himself kisses! :)

This is Emily with some Lego flowers on her fingers. She thought she was pretty cool with them on all of her fingers!! :)

Emily helped me and my mom paint yesterday -- she was actually pretty good! I think I see home improvement jobs in her future!!! :)

Before . . . and . . . After

There are our old washer & dryer . . .

And here are our beautiful new ones! Mom and I painted the room yesterday (1 color -- changed our mind -- then 2 coats of the new color -- what an ordeal!) Nelson came home at lunch and didn't even know we had painted the room with the first color because it was so close to the original green -- not really what we wanted to hear!! :( But I like the final outcome and we just love our new machines - aren't they huge!?!?!!
