Emily started crawling over the weekend!!! It's more like slithering and pulling herself forward with one arm, but she is moving on her belly!! How exciting!!! :)

The Swing

This is Nelson's latest project. He built a swing for the back yard and hung it from a branch. We've really enjoyed it and he did a great job!! :)

1 Year Pictures

Again, she was quite the little cheese at these pictures and we had a real hard time choosing which ones to get printed. They even gave her a cupcake to eat while her pictures were taken -- talk about a mess!! :)

1 Yr. Check-Up

Sorry this update is so late. Emily's appointment last week went really well. She now weighs 18 lbs 14 ozs and is 28.5" long. Her weight is in the 10% and her height is in the 50%. She's still very small (as you can obviously see in the pictures) but Dr. Joyce was impressed at how much weight she had gained since her 9 mos check-up. She said she is progressing well and there is nothing to be concerned about. We are scheduled for another check-up and immunization at 15 months, so it will be intresting to see how big she is then! She has to weigh at least 22 lbs for us to switch her to "front-facing" in her car-seat and we are very anxious for this, as I think she'll enjoy that much more! But at the rate we're going -- she might be 6 yrs old by the time that happens! ;)

These are a bunch of pictures taken over the last week while my grandmother was visiting. We had a wonderful time with her and we really enjoyed having her with us!

We're having a TON of people in for Memorial Day Weekend and are very excited to see all of our friends and family. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday, Emily!

Today is Emily's 1st Birthday. My grandma is visiting us through the weekend and we had quite the day! We had Emily's pictures taken this morning and then this afternoon we made Emily's birthday cake. I've never "professionally" decorated a cake before and my "instructor" (a.k.a. Grandma) said I got an A+! :) We had a blast putting everything together and sampling the frosting and cake in the process -- isn't that the point of baking? :)

Emily seemed to love all of her presents and played with them all! She really dove into the puzzle that Grandma got her and she was quite fascinated at the sounds coming out of the Spanish toys I got her. She'll learn!! :)

Tomorrow we have Emily's 12 Mos Check-up and I'll let you know then what her stats are and how everything went! Until then . . . :)
