Alexander Jack

Alex is one funny kid.  He is the life of the party and he always makes us laugh!  He really loves taking selfies with the cameras and we often find 30-50 pictures of himself -- this is one of them.  Isn't he so cute?!

He's also very creative.  He likes to work with Nelson in the woodshop and he built this "picture frame".

He also built this "ring holder" for me.  :)
Our church's Wednesday night program had the boys build grand prix cars and they had a race one Saturday.  Alex was so proud of the car he made (mostly by himself)!  :)

Emily Grace

Here are some random pictures of Emily over the last few months.  She is such a rule-follower and rule-maker, so here is a list of her rules.  :)

Alex made a snowman that had this saying on the heart, "My nose is cold, my toes are too.  But my heart is warm with love for you."  He no sooner got home from school and was taking it out of his backpack to give to Emily.  They can fight like cats and dogs, but then they are so sweet and loving to each other.  :)

Emily was practicing her dancing skills for her father-daughter date night and Alex volunteered.  I love the look in Alex's eyes as he dances with his sister.  He just adores her!
Emily and I sent this picture to a friend of ours that lives in Mozambique.  Oddette loved it and we had fun making it!  :)
Emily is growing into a beautiful young lady and she is such a sweet girl - always caring for those around her and creating new artwork everyday.

Father-Daughter Date Night

Our church has a Father-Daughter Dance every year for kids in grades K-5.  Nelson and Emily both look forward to this, and Nelson sewed a dress for Emily again this year.
She was the belle of the ball!  :)

Nelson came to the front door, rang the doorbell and "picked her up" for their date.  He even had a corsage for her.  She felt so special!

They played music from Frozen and all the girls were out on the dance floor singing and dancing.  Apparently it was quite the sight to see!  :)
 Look at those moves!

Easter in Virginia

Fun at the National Zoo...

This alligator was holding so still that we thought it was a statue until someone noticed it blink.  Yikes!  :)

This was the highlight of the zoo for Alex.  He was so amazed at how the snake swallowed the mouse and he watched the snake eat three more.  It was gruesome, but Alex was mesmerized!

We went to an Easter Egg Hunt and EggRoll at Morven Park.  It was a beautiful day and the kids had a really good time!  Thank you Stephen and Ellen for planning that -- it was lovely!!

After the Easter Egg Hunt, we went out for lunch at a great Turkish-German restaurant.  Nelson and I loved it and we were all surprised that the kids devoured their doeners too.  It was yummy!!  :)

Aunt Ellen made the kids' bunny pancakes for breakfast.  They were so cute!!  :)

This has to be one of my favorite pictures of the whole weekend.  Alex and Emily love Brad and Katie so much and they always ask to see them more often.  Alex could barely keep his feet on the ground when Brad and Katie walked in -- there is a real bond there!!  :)

The kids had so much fun with Aunt Caroline and Aunt Hannah.  They were so great with the kids and they never once complained about our kids wanting to play with them (even early in the morning).  We love you two!!  :)

Thank you, Stephen and Ellen, for having us for Easter.  You are such gracious hosts and we always feel so welcome at your home.  We can't wait to see you again!  :)
